Welcome to our website and into our home. I am addicted to researching family history, yours and mine and I look forward to helping you with your research.
Most of our research covers Nebraska and western Iowa although we are able to help you with finding ancestors in other places using the internet. A few of the many sources available that we use when helping you with your family history are Ancestry and other genealogy websites, census records, local history, family histories in libraries, cemeteries, funeral homes, vital records, court records (criminal and civil), land records, naturalization records, homestead entries, church records, and the wonderful collection of newspapers at the Nebraska State Historical Society as well as many other sources.
In addition to family history we return tombstones which have been removed from their resting place and dumped in Lancaster County. We have several colleges here and perhaps they are picked up for scavenger hunts. All but one or two of the twenty five or more that we have returned have a date or birth or death in the 1800’s. We have returned most of them to Nebraska cemeteries but one to Kansas and one to Iowa.
We have put a beginning genealogy class on power point to demonstrate the various documents and/or information one can find on the internet, courts, vital records, county histories, and other sources you may not think of, i.e.; livestock brand recordings, high school annuals, church records, newspapers and many other resources.
Another fun project we did for our church’s 80th anniversary was to put together a history of the church which included many pictures.
